Good morning beautiful people,

Today's post at People Style Watch is definitely a personal one, as it's about trying out fashion that you want to wear but have never quite gotten right. It might sound like something small on the surface, but I think it's a metaphor for not giving up on yourself even when you think you do something wrong or simply that YOU yourself are somehow "wrong". I speak through my fashion and I believe that it's more than just putting on clothes, it's about presenting the best version of yourself to the world.

If you follow me on Instagram, I've talked about my weight and my journey to get healthy once again. You guys may or may not know that I've gone up and down in my weight my whole life, and I've recently gotten back on the wagon of trying to be healthy (yet again, I know). I want to have children soon and I want to grow them in the healthiest body I can have. I feel I owe that to both myself and my husband, as well as our future babies, God willing. I say all that to say that even when you don't FEEL your best, sometimes you have to try and push yourself to DO the best with what God has blessed you with. I will always take fashion chances and keep trying, just like I will never give up on trying to be the best me I can be.

I appreciate all of you who listen and support, and I encourage you to be your best self and to keep fighting for whatever it is you want in life. You can absolutely achieve it if you don't give up.

I started this blog with one of my favorite patterns to wear, stripes! And in all the years ever since, I haven't let my love of them go. There's just something so classic about a great striped dress that's both timeless and chic.

I also find that stripes are the perfect way to show off your curves, despite what popular knowledge may say. By now, nearly every blogger has worn them, so I hope you've also followed suit and tried out stripes in your wardrobe.

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day and are enjoying your 3-day weekend (if you're among the lucky ones who actually get the day off!). I am back today, in spite of being in this frozen hell we call New York City, to help you get out of your dark color rut during the winter months.

Like so many of us, I'm the QUEEN of all black, especially when it's frigid out, but I love injecting a little spring-thinking into my wardrobe with a dash of bright colors.

I ALSO challenged myself to make an otherwise shapeless, typical "plus size" wardrobe piece into a young and fun-looking outfit that is office-ready while still being chic.

It's officially Valentine's Day and love is in the air. I for one am quite excited to be spending my first Valentine's as a married lady.

Even though I've been with my husband a very long time and I *may* have gained some newlywed weight indulging in Paris and a few decadent dinners since our return, it's important to me to make sure that I still get dressed up for my guy. I think that's a universal truth we should all follow, whether we are in a relationship or not. Sometimes, the day to day grind of life as a professional, a mom, a wife, a friend, a daughter and all the titles we as women take on can make it easy to forget about ourselves. But it's critical sometimes to force yourself to look your best so that you can feel your best. It's not about shallow appearances, but rather it's about doing what you can to feel your best. This could mean a fabulous outfit, a favorite piece of jewelry, sexy lingerie, or even just your favorite perfume or lipstick. Whatever it is ladies, don't forget to take some time out to treat yourself to a bit of glamour each day. Or at least when you can.

This week, I will be sharing a few different Valentine's Day options with you and several variations on red or pink outfits. Tis the season, right.

I hope you're all stocked up and ready for this "historic" blizzard the news keeps scaring us about. I myself decided to brave it to shoot today's look for People Style Watch magazine. It's all about layering and staying warm and chic at the office.

By now, you guys all know that I love bodycon (I'm not letting go!), but it's not always the most practical for the office. That's where layering can come in to make it more appropriate.

The sweater and the dress are from one of my new favorite collections, Stories By KO, by Kelly Osbourne. I know many of you are familiar with it by now, so I may be a little late to the party, but man, her pieces are versatile.

I'm getting myself back into the swing of things slowly but surely after celebrating and traveling with my amazing new husband. It's funny because you can be with someone for a long time before getting married, but then you officially tie the knot, as they say, and it somehow becomes different , even though it's the same. I know that sounds crazy, but what I mean to say is that while our day to day lives are the same, there is something incredibly special about knowing we have both committed to each other for life and have begun our new little family unit together with the two of us. It has brought us closer in a way I didn't know could happen after almost a decade of dating.

Anyway, enough GUSHING (geez, I'm so sorry, it's nonstop, I know). I wanted to share this look I recently blogged for People Style Watch magazine. It's this fabulous peplum and lace dress from City Chic Online. I love their store and site so much! The peplum is very flattering and the style of the dress allows me to stay warm in these frigid January temperatures while also staying chic.

This week I will be sharing all of my official wedding photos, including a how-to guide for wedding dress shopping as a curvy girl.

It's hard to be cute in this crazy winter weather I swear, but I was really into the comfort and ease of this outfit. When it's icy outside, the last thing I want to do some days is wear my heels.

I bought this skirt from Macy's from their Keds line for -- get ready -- 9 dollars! I'm such a bargain hunter!

As this horrendous winter rages on, it always feels so hard to look chic but also stay warm. I've been wearing a lot of sweater dresses and tights to keep myself warm and this outfit was a great blend of them.

I had a few important meetings in the city today -- I've actually been super swamped all this week trying to make big things happen for my future -- which is why I haven't been at as many of the Fashion Week shows this year as I have been in the past. It's a little sad to see all of the fabulous pictures and I've only been to the tents once this season so far, but that's ok. Sometimes you have to sacrifice the things you love temporarily for the bigger picture.

As much as I love luxury fabrics and labels, if I have not been saving up for something for a long time, I really only justify purchasing them if I can get a deal. That is truly where vintage shopping has been my saving grace. I can't tell you how many of my favorite luxurious pieces in my closet have been purchased for a fraction of the price through shopping at consignment stores, secondhand boutiques and my tried and true favorite, the Salvation Army.
