Continuing with my journey to wear things I would normally shy away from, I stepped outside of my comfort zone to wear shorts. I've worn this particular pair from New York and Company before (see the post here), but never officially blogged about them. I just never have seen shorts as something I could pull off. But at the encouragement of a friend, I paired them with black tights and this Altuzarra sweater from Target and felt good about the outcome.

I tend to love midi length dresses that I forget sometimes how great a mini dress can be. I love the simplicity of a short length dress in the chilly temps with tights and boots, and of course a blazer or coat thrown on top.
I got this fab, adorable mini dress in this Versace-inspired print from Pop Up Plus and couldn't get over how cute it was for the affordable price tag. And get this : Although I wore tights, I did not need Spanx, as bodycon as it is. And I felt good in it, the WHOLE time. I don't know what kind of magical sorcery this fabric is but I'm ready to make a wardrobe full of it. Seriously.

Day 2 of my 50 Day Outfit Project and I'm feeling so excited about being in this mental space and the interactions I know I will have with all of you over the next 6 weeks.

I'm in such a black and white phase right now and seem to find myself wearing muted colors nonstop. I've also been eyeing this bow collar from Asos for a while ( I know a lot of people have) so it seemed like the perfect compliment to my very black and white moment.

Now let me also tell you about the real star of my closet right now : this coat.

There's something so appealing about wearing two different style aesthetics and combining them into a look that suits your style. I am such a fan of combining expensive and inexpensive pieces of fashion and this outfit combination is the ultimate representation of that.

I got the inspiration for this look from a stylist friend of mind and I have to say that this is a new favorite print/material combination.

This leather-trim pencil skirt from designer Manon Baptiste is so amazing in terms of the fit and feel. It's my first piece from Navabi and I have to say, I was incredibly impressed with the quality. I paired it with this tartan blouse from Ashley Stewart and my new, trusty (and painful) Altuzarra for Target booties. I keep waiting to break these in, hoping they will feel better soon. I'll let you know when the wait is over, haha.

Now that I'm back from London, I feel like I'm still playing major catch up. Work has been so busy and I'm officially in the home stretch of wedding planning. It's pretty overwhelming.

When I was there, I wore this amazing white dress from the new collection from Kelly Brook. She's a very famous TV personality and model in the UK and is well known for her sexy style and her fabulous curves. So her collection is definitely designed to flatter a curvy gal's body -- and that obviously works very well for plus.

So I wore the dress with this oversize coat, but I was so busy being a tourist and being overwhelmed by the amazing fashion that I didn't get a great, clear shot of the look. So what's a girl to do but re-shoot it at home! It's not quite the same, but hey, at least you can see how fab this dress really is.
