A Josephine Baker Moment in Nola

On my last night in wonderful New Orleans, I decided to bring out this fabulous Josephine Baker skirt set that I have had my eye on for the longest.

The set, from Rue 107, is really well made and I felt comfortable in it all night. It is separates, but I tucked the top into the skirt and it ended up looking more like a dress, which was just fine with me. I've always been fascinated by Josephine Baker's history and to see her image immortalized in such a cool way made me absolutely fall in love.

Thanks to my hair for being ALL in my face

I love Rue 107's pieces SO much, as many bloggers and customers do. However, I did not have the greatest experience ordering from them. But the pieces I did finally receive were so great that it was completely worth it.

I've had such an AMAZING time in this wonderful city. We walked around last night and heard live music and shared laughs and drinks with the locals and tourists. This after a day of touring a swamp and two plantations. I learned a lot of history and experienced a truly unique place. It was a BLAST and thank you to Nola for being such a great host to me. I will definitely be back.
