Day 10: Comfy, Cozy Glam

As much as I consider myself someone who loves the glamorous life, I also love to be comfortable and add edge to the things that I wear. I really came of age both as a fashion lover and a model in the early to mid-2000s, when Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Kimora Lee Simmons were in the height of their "urban glam" (if you will) phases. In fact my FIRST modeling client ever was Baby Phat, followed by Roca Wear and several other urban brands like Apple Bottoms and House of Dereon (rest in peace, oh "urban" brands).

So there's definitely still that part of me that loves to wear things like big hoop earrings, flashy aviators, puffy coats and sweatpants with heels. 



I was so happy to see it come back into the mix in the last two years or so, most recently with the comfy-glam, edgy and sporty collection from Alexander Wang for H&M.

Now, you guys know my feeling on H&M plus (although I've seen vast improvement) but I do still love H&M's standard line (and I'm happy to see them extending many sizes to XLs and 16s). I got this sweatsuit from them and knew it would be perfect for a comfy but fun day.


You definitely still get a few stares in sweatpants and heels, but the good (fashion) kind. It's fun to take chances and you know you're really becoming your own self when not everyone loves your choices and you don't care.
