Speaking to the graduating class at my Alma Mater

I had the wonderful honor and privilege last week to speak to the beautiful class of 2012 at Douglass College, Rutgers University on Thursday.

I can honestly say it was one of the top 5 best days of my life.

First of all, to be back at the place I called home for four years was simply magical and very nostalgic. And the women at Douglass this year, as in many other years, have the highest GPA of any class at Rutgers graduating this year, and are the most diverse. It was truly a wonderful place to go to school.

Me and the other speakers for the day.

I spoke to the women about staying involved after graduation and getting over the hurdle of people telling you that getting a job isn't possible or that you can't achieve your dreams. It was a wonderful experience and I hope that the women enjoyed listening to me as I enjoyed speaking to them (although that is clearly impossible!).

It is a day that will live in my memory and it opened my eyes to the things I need to do more of and some things I need to let go of once and for all. I feel so blessed that God gave me that experience.

Congratulations to any of you graduating this year. It is no small accomplishment and you should be very proud of yourselves.
