Anniversary Getaway At Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia

Hello Lovahs and happy new year to all of you. What a year 2016 was -- full of highs and lows of course, but I'm choosing to remember the good of the year and be thankful for how it ended. I'm happiest of all that I found my way back to doing the things that I love.

My husband and I celebrated our second anniversary this year and we've created a small tradition of traveling to different cities around the country and exploring what they have to offer. It started because we didn't want to spend tons of money on a Caribbean or European getaway while we are saving for other things (ie a house, bills ... life lol). For our first year, we did a "staycation" in NYC and so for our second, we decided to explore Philadelphia, as hubby is a DIE HARD Eagles fan. And let me tell you, we had an amazing time!

We stayed at the Hotel Monaco, which was right in the heart of the city and close to all the museums and restaurants. It's owned by the Kimpton hotel group --  If you haven't stayed in one of their hotels, do yourself a favor and book a trip ASAP! Their decor is always modern and eclectic, their customer service is amazing and they have this super cool cocktail hour where they have free wine (and a signature cocktail) for guests every night. It's always a good time and makes you feel so appreciated. (And by the way, I was not paid or sponsored for this post -- it's my honest opinion. I'm actually just this much of a Stan for them, lol).

We visited lots of museums like The Franklin Institute and dined at some of best restaurants in the city including Alma de Cuba (which was super sexy!), Jim's (for an authentic Philly cheesesteak) and we finished up with New Year's Eve (our anniversary) at Butcher and Singer, which made me feel like I was dining at a scene straight out of Mad Men or an Old Hollywood film. It was beautiful and amazing and the food was BOMB (I'm still dreaming about that bacon macaroni and cheese).

Check out some of my pics below and share which city you think we should visit next! All brands for my outfits are mentioned below.

How cool and vintage is this hallway with this huge, amazing mirror?

I was/am obsessed with the wallpaper of our room.

The thoughtful piece of cake they sent us with champagne to celebrate our anniversary! LOVE!
(The obligatory drunk NYE selfie lol)

And OH YES, I'm loving my new haircolor. I'll be doing a review of this unit asap -- it's from RPG Show. Stay tuned.

I'm so happy to be back blogging again. I missed you guys SO MUCH!
