Day 16: All of the lights

One of my favorite combinations to wear is definitely black and gold, and it's the perfect color combination for the holidays.

With so many office parties, sometimes you need to find a festive but appropriate outfit to wear out just as much as you need a fun party look for hanging out without your co-workers.

I love mixing materials, like this velvet skirt and foil print crop top. I added this jacket over the look to make it a bit more conservative, because really, how many of us can wear crop tops around our coworkers?

I shot this on the beautiful Hudson waterfront. There's still a sadness in the air tonight and much to be done in this world we are living in, but it's strange how with every sad moment, there is a miracle as well. My miracle came in the form of my new nephew, who was born yesterday. A healthy, beautiful baby boy, whose life has me in awe of how this world works. His light definitely drowns out a bit of this bleakness of the last few days. I am so thankful for that, and I know it's a blessing.

Have a wonderful and safe journey to wherever your destination is for the holiday, and be sure to give thanks for the blessings we have.

Happy Thanksgiving.
