Happy Thursday everyone! I'm back today with the third look from my holiday lookbook with Lane Bryant. Lately I've been doing all sorts of fancy and formal looks, so I wanted to have a little fun with a more casual, versatile look for the holidays that could be worked into your wardrobe beyond just a fancy party.
Let's just start by talking about this coat. I am obsessed with it and I am going to live in it all winter long and for many winters to come. It's classic and just the right amount of fancy without being pretentious. The wool is warm and thick and the fur is super soft and looks luxurious (there's nothing worse than cheap looking fur on your coat!). I started from there and decided that would be the real piece that stood out in this look.
From there, I added these amazing trousers in a subtle polka dot print. The fit on these is great and the "tall" length was perfect for heels and a bit easier to navigate than the wide leg. I paired it with this white off-the-shoulder sweater that was long enough to tuck in but not so long that it got bulky inside the pants. This is the perfect easy, but super chic look that can go from work to family events to drinks. And it's super comfortable!
As for the fit, I ordered a size up in the pants (again because I didn't want them to be snug in the hips) and will tailor them a bit in the waist (this is my secret go-to for pants and is so important if you find yourself in between sizes and don't want things to be too snug-fitting). I ordered the sweater and coat in my normal size and the fit was great (the coat buttons at the waist but not all the way down to the hips if that's where you carry your weight).
Happy shopping!
