Happy 4th of July weekend! It was so gloomy and rainy all Spring, I felt like I never got to enjoy walking through the grass, which, while I know sounds strange, is one of my favorite things to do. When I was a kid, I would just lay in the grass or run around barefoot in it any chance I got. It takes me back to simpler times, when you spent the days outside on your bike and with your friends, only coming home at dusk, knowing your mother was waiting for you (and with my Caribbean mother, that meant curry chicken was on the stove and I could *NOT* be late!).
As much as I love my beautiful Sophia Webster heels, which I wore out to a day party with this dress, taking them off was the best part of the day.
My dress is from FashionNova (it's called the "Ajay" dress and is linked below), and was a very true to size fit. I find with their midi dresses, the cotton seems to be a bit thicker, giving you more support (and less showing of any imperfections). I wish I could say the same for some of their pants sets, but you can't win 'em all.
Check out more on my social media (I hope you're still following me @alliemcgev) and enjoy the rest of this beautiful weekend. I'm heading out to catch my town's fireworks and I'm low key waaaay too excited.
xx
