Last night was the runway debut of the Isabel Toledo collection for Lane Bryant and it was such a fabulous night. The fashion was just stunning and it was so great to be part of such an electric night.
Many of my friends worked the runway and looked beautiful in the pieces. Isabel has designed for huge celebrities and made the famous coat and dress set that Michelle Obama wore during the president's first inauguration. To see her designing true high fashion for an affordable plus line is just such a great moment.
You can shop some of the Isabel Toledo looks in store and at LaneBryant.com.
I wanted to wear something fabulous but with wedding planning & a tight month I am on a very strict budget. In came Forever 21 to save the day with this black dress that was -- wait for it -- fifteen dollars. It was actually the cheapest price tag of anything I was wearing that night -- my necklace alone was about 4 times that cost, but it honestly looked very expensive when styled up.
Moreover, I walked about 30 blocks and the dress didn't lose it's shape at the bottom, the way many dresses, often much more expensive, have done for me at the past.
