New designer to look out for: Cabiria

On set! Love my job!

One of my favorite parts about my job is getting to see new brands and designers on the verge of something magical. My newest client, Cabiria, designed by Hollywood stylist and costume designer Eden Miller, is seriously AMAZING and I can't even begin to tell you guys how excited I am for her to come on the map.

Yesterday was the photoshoot for Cabiria's lookbook and website and it was one of the most fun days I have had on set. We were shooting in different locations in New York City and it was honestly the most humbling experience to be a part of the team. Models Maxey Greene and Farrah Olieri joined me as we were shot and styled by an A-list team that has worked on movies, television shows, commercials and theater productions. Listening to them talk about their experiences in Hollywood and watching them work their magic made the energy in the shoot really electric.
But let me gush about the designer and the aesthetic for a minute.

Eden Miller's line was inspired by curvy icons from the Golden Age of Cinema. The line is named after the film "Nights in Cabiria," and has a whimsical, sexy feel to it that makes you look and feel like a superstar. A plus size woman herself, Eden has been working on films and theater productions for 25 years. She's styled and designed costumes for movies and tv shows like Nurse Jackie and Gravity, for bands like Dave Matthews Band and Gucci ads with James Franco. This woman is the definition of a professional.

She mentioned to us how when she goes into places like Barney's or Neiman Marcus or small boutiques that she feels like she can look at the fabrics, but that's it because she can't buy them because they don't make it in her size. So she took it upon herself to make dresses with amazing construction, fabrics and attention to detail. Her line caters to women a size 12-24 and she really, really hit it out of the park.

Cabiria is just starting out in terms of production and she is working on getting the word out and getting investors and buyers to come on board, but I honestly believe it won't be a problem because the items are GORGEOUS. Everything I put on made me feel like Sophia Loren or Marilyn Monroe.

As soon as the video and photos are out, I will share more, but for now, please check out her website, CabiriaStyle.com for information. And PLEASE show your support. These are the kinds of designers we need and DESERVE.

Check out these behind the scenes photos from yesterday's shoot and enjoy!!
