Fashion Week has officially descended upon New York and I attended my first of many events last night.
The Red Dress Collection fashion show was at the Hammerstein Ballroom and that thing was complete pandemonium. It’s a huge charity production for heart disease and it always brings in big celebs. Among the memorable ladies who walked in red dresses were Chaka Khan, Christie Brinkley, Rose McGowan and Minka Kelly.
As soon as I get video from the show, I’ll share it here.
In the meantime, it was FREEZING last night and snowing. That really sucked and meant I wasn’t going to take photos outside. So I snapped a few afterward of what I was wearing.
It’s a shame my hair is covering it because the shoulders on this blouse are actually cut-outs so it shows skin in a nice, subtle way. I don’t know if it’s office appropriate, but it definitely works for an after-hours event. I’ve had the shirt for a few years now and I never stop loving it. The color is so vibrant.
I also got this polka dot skirt for dirt cheap from Strawberry. I love finding nice clothing at a recessionista price.
I don’t think anyone would know looking at it where I bought it from.
My shoes are also from a few years ago, and they have sentimental value. They’re from Michael Kors and I bought them as my FIRST major purchase after getting a job after college. I remember thinking they were so expensive at the time, but looking back I see it was just bc I was broke, LOL. Still, they have lasted me years now and are still as beautiful as ever.
